Hello all, My windows media up till now has played all my videos. Now it
won't play certain ones that it did before. I have xpsp2 with wmp 11. It
gives no error message or code for the reason. Just says windows has
encountered a problem and needs to close. Have most of the regularly used
codecs etc, still won't play. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

First...try the following...open WMP and go to...
Tools / Options / File Types tab / Select All / Apply / OK.

The reason I suggest this is because my WMP recently
quit playing .MPEG files and this simple adjustment was
the fix.

Good luck...

OK...have you tried the following codec package?

K-Lite Codec Pack 5.05 (Full)

This time it did work on the videos I had in my computer. Just have to wait for the others to finish to find out if that was the issue, completely. Thanks again.

What worked? Re-setting the associations or installing the codec pack?

Installing the codec pack. Even though I had all of them before. They were
however seperate individuals, not all in one like the klite. Thanks.
