I installed the Vista beta yesterday and for the most part all is well.
However I am having an issue with media player 11. It continues to tell me it
is offline and will not connect to the internet. I made sure the "work
offline" in the file menu is not selected. I also selected "always connect to
the internet" in the options. I checked the firewall and that's not the
problem either. Anybody have any ideas?

Hi Jay:

The problem with the media player not recognizing being online lies within
Explorer, believe it or not. Open a web page, click tools, internet options,
advanced. Uncheck everything in multimedia and click apply. Recheck
everything except "show image download placeholders" and click apply. Next
pop over to the
connections tab, click lan settings and make sure you check "automatically
detect settings" click ok twice. When you use media player next, you should
be able to stream with no difficulty.

Hi Jay: This has to do with the internet explorer settings. Click tools,
internet options, advanced. Toggle everything in multimedia and click apply.
Next pop over to connections tab. Click Lan Settings, put a check in
"automatically detect settings" click ok, then ok again.

This will work, I am positive.

Good luck Man!
