Windows Media Player Version 10 still running after exiting

After exiting the program either by clicking on the X in top right corner or
by selecting exit from the menu my music continues to play. When I go into
Task Manager sure enough the wmplayer.exe is still running. Anybody have this
problem before? If so how did you resolve the problem?

I found the answer to this on a different newsgroup. The theory is a corrupt
or unstable codec. To remedy I removed all te audio codecs through device
manager. I then restarted media player which then downloaded and reinstalled
them. All is good now.
