I work with a small (7 person) grassroots not for profit
organization that has pitiful computers. My coworker is
having a problem with her Media Player v9.0 and since we
don't have a tech, I'm trying to find a resolution to her
problem.

Each day when she boots her computer up, Media Player will
not open. We have tried using the shortcut, going to the
start menu and going to the actual program folder and
using the .exe file. It will not open no matter what
method we use.

But I can uninstall it, reboot, re-install it and it works
fine...until she shuts her computer down.

Have scanned for a virus and both AVG and TrendMicro come
up clean. Have run SpyBot and removed all spyware.

Any suggestions on what could be happening that if the
computer is restarted, Media Player has to uninstalled and
reinstalled before it will work again?

Thanks in advance for any assistance...

I would first suggest making sure that the WMP that you
have is for your OS. You can get the XP version or one for
all other versions except win98 witch is ver 7.1. If you
have the correct version you may have a violation between
programs causing not to open. Try closing all other
programs then open WMP. Also check to see if your computer
meets system requirements here

r/sysreq.aspx good luck.
