windows media player not responding

I'm having trouble with Windows Media Player. When I acess it, it opens up
but it won't play, rip, or burn. Actually, it doesn't do anything. When I
open the Windows Task Manager, it says that it's not responding. What shoul I
do? Does anyone know what's wrong with it? I'm in desperate need because I
can't listen to my music.
