Not sure where to ask this, but here goes:
I am attempting to attach a sound file (a song) to an OE message, but can't
locate the path to the songs that are in my Media Player.
Where should I look?

When you click the "attach file" icon, browse to the place you saved the
file in. They would be in "My Media" or wherever you save your media files.

On my system, all the files for WMP are generally stored in the "My Music"
folder, that might be the case for you, so browse to it to see if the file
you want to send in the email is there.

Not absolutely certain; however, a logical place to look is your "My Music"
subfolder in your "My Documents" folder.

An easy way to find Media Player music files if you have no clue is to do a
search in 'Windows Explorer' for files that have .mp3 or .wma as part of the
file name. That will should give you the directory where the bulk of these
files reside. Write down that directory for reference when you next attach
a tune. Of course, that will not help for DRM protected files.

The problem I was having was that the "My Music" file only had about 20% of
my music files (for some unknown reason)
While continuing to fiddle with it, I have discovered the answer: I opened
Windows Media Player, right clicked on the song I wanted, and opened
Properties. There was the path to the song! C:\Documents and Settings\[my
name]\Shared\[song name]
I'm now trying to find out why all the songs are not going in to My Music
file. Some are, some aren't. The path for the ones that are is C:\Documents
and Settings\[my name]\My Documents\My Music\[song name]. Thanks for
suggestions. I wonder if there is a way to change this?
(It's a neat option- sending email with a song. I have recorded a couple of
guitar/singing clips, and am planning on sending them with email. May be a
way to distribute music)

The tunes in the 'Shared' subdirectory were placed there by the application
used to download or create. Find that application and change the directory.

One way is to go to start, accesories, windows explorer, select the drive it
is on and search for your file there. There are a lot of searching options
this way.
