I have several media players on my computer: iTunes, QuickTime, Windows Media
Player, and perhaps more.

Used to be that, when I was using MS-IE, and clicked on a MP3 file, it would be
played by WMP.
Recently (who knows what I have done) QuickTime is doing the honors.

I have looked all over (except in the right place, I suppose) to change some
setting so that WMP plays MP3 files in MS-IE, but no luck.

Any help and/or suggestions?

Thanks!

Hold down the Shift key while you right click an MP3 file and choose Open
with. Select the program you want and check the box to always use this
program.

Old Enough,
You might want to also open the QuickTime Player.
Under EDIT> Preferences> QuickTime Player> Scroll down to File Types>
Uncheck the MP3 Files.

You may have to do this every time that you install/upgrade QuickTime. You
may have to do this with other media player programs such as RealPlayer.
