Windows media player 9 on XP

Please help!
I have the above and get no picture when trying to play a
pre-recorded DVD. I have no problem playing itemd
downloaded and others but nothing on my DVDs. I have
looked on here for an updated driver to no avail and also
downloaded a new decoder but still nothing. Can someone
please point me in the right direction?
