Windows Media Player 9 columns won't sort

In the Media Library section there are various columns, Artist, Ratings, etc...The first time I tried I could sort the
Artist column alphabetically just by clicking on the heading. After that I couldn't get it or any column to sort at
all. Does anyone know the solution to this problem?
