Windows Media Centre Help Please

I have Vista home premium. My windows media centre is not working I get a
message:- C:\Windows\system32\AVRT.dll is either not designed to run on
Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the programme again.

However when I have tried to re-install from the microsoft download centre I
am told that my computer came with the WMC installed!!!! catch 22 can't get
it working can't re-install it.
Can ayone help please?

Please try the following to find a discussion group for your Vista WMC
problem. This group is for .NET programming questions.

As you appear to be using a web interface, try this:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/

In the tree on the left, open English, then open Windows. In the
Windows subcategory, find and open the subcategory for Windows Vista, and
find a group there for your post.
