I visited the listed website and found it very
informative. My machine is running using Windows xp. On
entering the registry edit program I could find neither
the MCI Extensions folder or the MCI32 folder.Might this
be the issue or am I looking in the wrong place? I went
to My
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Cur
rentVersion\
The only folder remotely resembling the MCI Extensions
folder or the MCI32 folder seemed to be called
MediaContentIndex and on entering this there was a folder
titled Schemes but not much else.
What should I do now?
Many thanks
Mark

You may need to do some registry surgery.

specifics.

Many thanks for the suggestion.Unfortunately this does
not appear to have cured the issue. Would appreciate
any
further thoughts.

I am currently finding it impossible to play *.wma
files
in existing slideshows (although the loudspeaker
icon
is
present). These have been playing previously. Also I
cannot insert wma files into new presentations. When
I
try
I get the message "Powerpoint couldn't insert sound
from
file". I would appreciate any guidance on what the
issue
may be and how to resolve it.
Many thanks
