windows media and websites

Whenever I visit a webpage that uses a music url associated with Windows Media Player, I don't hear any music. About a week ago I still got sound, and I didn't touch any of the settings on Windows Media. Sites using MP3 or RM files work, though. What could the problem be, and how can I fix it?

You can always try a Restore of your system to before the problem started.
You can go back up to 90 days.
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore
Or, you may have picked up some malware while surfing the "net".

thanks! i did a adware cleaning of my system and then it worked after.
that adware screws everything up..
