After buying an IPOD I have discovered that I am unable to
use it with Windows ME and that I need to upgrade to
Windows XP, these kinds of things always make me
nervous...is there anything I should know before I begin.

Begin what? Have you already purchased WindowsXP? It is not free you know.
It runs from $50 to $85

1. Backup your data
2. Check that your existing programs will run with Windows XP (most
will, some games & older programs may not, a few may require upgrades).
3. Check that your computer has sufficient hardware resources,
especially RAM to run Windows XP.

Ask on a generic Windows XP (e.g. newusers) newsgroup ratehr than one
devoted to music.
