How to copy existing emails & contacts from Outlook 2003 to Windows Mail.

Not knowing how you are set up:

Same machine (Vista - not an upgrade)
1) No previous Outlook installed: Install Outlook 2003, copy the .pst file
for use then import into Windows Mail

2) Outlook installed: Import into Windows Mail

Different machine (XP installed):
1) Export to Outlook Express then copy the DBX files to the Vista machine
then import.
Tools | Options | Maintenance tab | Store Folder button to find the location
of the DBX files for Outlook Express

Same machine (Vista upgrade to XP)
1) Import into Windows Mail

Thanks DGuess, but I cannot get it to work.
I have copied all emails & contacts from a xp machine from outlook 2003 to a
new vista machine into outlook 2003, but I cannot copy to windows mail. Any
extra help will be appreciated.

Let's revioew so I can create a scorecard and know who's on first.

You got them from the XP machine with Outlook 2003 to the Vista computer
with Outlook 2003?

Yes that is correct. I copied from Outlook Express on xp machine to Outlook
2003 on xp machine, then transferred to Outlook 2003 on new vista machine via
Easy Transfer Cable using Windows Easy Transfer. I just can't copy them to
Windows Mail on the vista machine, thanks Mike

You can't import into WinMail from Outlook 2003/ Ok, that's a bit different
that to "...copy them to Windows Mail..."

Create a folder on the Vista machine and copy ALL the dbx file from Outlook
Express to it. Then try that import.
