I have Windows Vista basic home edition with Windows Mail. I cannot seem to
open attachments that have been sent from someone using word - any
suggestions?

I ran into that problem with pps (PowerPoint) file attachments. I tried
everything to open them and eventually tried saving the files and then
clicking on them -- voila, they opened. It's worth a try. Good luck

With Outlook Express I would go to FONTS and click a background color or
stationary, and then go back and change the COLOR of the printing. This isn't
working with Vista Premium, UNLESS I am doing something WRONG. I hope that
someone can HELP me out here...

Steve,

I can't even open attachments that I've sent using Windows Mail....never
mind received.

Saving to disk in that circumstance would be totally ridiculous. In Outlook
Express you just clicked on the attachment that you had sent and hey presto,
you could read it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks - Paul

Vista has a higher security profile, precisely because too many users
got their machines infected by doing what you suggest (opening the
attachment within the mail client).

I too am having problems with some attachments. I have Vista Premium. Some
atachments open perfectly, others are pages long with jibberish (looks like
all the commands) before and after the main body. I never had this problem
with Windows 98. What can I do?
Sorry I'm entering this as a reply. I couldn't get the new question SUBJECT
box to open.
