I bought a new computer and it has the windows vista, and windows mail
instead of Outlook (which I love outlook). I entered in everything right but
I can not reply or forward emails. I can send new emails, and recieve emails.
There is nothing wrong with the server information entered or I wouldn't be
able to do either (sending or recieving) yet I can not reply or forward. It
pops with an error message saying that its the server, yet it's not because I
can go to the server page and forward and reply there. I can not get it to
work on windows mail. Is there anyway I can get my outlook off my old
computer and put it on my new one? Or fix my problem?? Please help me!!

I've never heard of a scenario where one can send and receive
new emails but cannot forward or reply. Very baffling!

Can you post the exact error message?

If you have the install CD for Outlook, you can install it under Vista.
However, Outlook 2002 or older may not work very well.

I have called my server, and the maker of the computer and can not get it
fixed through them (mainly becasue they don't know what to do) Like I said, I
can go to my server page and reply and forward but not through Microsoft
mail, so it's not the server. I don't have the Outlook cd...it came installed

Well, the message is FROM the server. They ought to know what it means.
One of the things that can cause if with some servers is having more
recipients than the server allows.

Are you sending from a verizon.net address?
Are you connected to verizon.net?

Yes it is verizon.net but it all works fine on my old computer with Outlook
express. How could it be a problem with the server if it still works on my
old computer and not my new one?? I would think that if it is a server
problem, I wouldn't be able to use it at all (either on the server site, or
my old outlook express). I went through everything with verizon and it is all
set up correctly, and they had me test (replying and forwarding) on the
server site and it worked fine. I just can not do it it Windows Mail. PLUS if
it were a server problem I shouldn't be able to send anything at all. I can
still send new emails and recieve emails. Wouldn't I not be able to do that
if my server was messed up??

If we are to believe the error message "Authentication Required"
then the solution is easy. Go to Tools, Accounts, select the
verizon.net account, Properties, Server, place a checkmark in
"My server requires authentication."

It is already checked...they had me try with it checked and without it
checked...and currently it is checked and I still can not forward or reply to
messages.

There's a possibility that the email account is corrupted.
First, make sure any email scanning is disabled:

Then delete the email account. Close WinMail, then open it
again and recreate the account.

Check that you are using the correct ports.
