Windows Mail won't download anything from a certain NG

I've got a few usenet newsgroups I access via Windows Mail and there's
one, the alt.games.video.xbox newsgroup, that Windows Mail has failed
to download any messages from for like 4-5 days. (BTW, my ISP is
Verizon broadband.)

What could be the possible causes and fixes for this? My settings,
according to Verizon's help site are correct. None of the NG require
SSL. Ironically, until today my attempts to post from any NG via
Google Groups also resulted in them either being rejected somehow
because I've still not seen posts I made a few days ago. Someone using
Comcast also reported a problem with the same NG where messages didn't
show up on Google Groups for 3 days after they've been posted.

I've tried unsubscribing and re-subscribing to the XBox newsgroup but
this does not change anything. I've set it to download new messages. I
know there are plenty of new messages that my Windows Mail has not
downloaded over the last couple days so it's not that there isn't
anything for it to download.

Any suggestions or knowledge is appreciated. Could this be a problem
with Usenet and not Verizon or Windows Mail?
 
I highly doubt this is a Windows Mail problem.
A more likely cause is the Verizon news server.
Is this a moderated newsgroup? Perhaps the moderator is slow with
approving posts.

No it's not a moderated NG. I can view the NG fine on Google Groups,
but suddenly beginning about 4 days ago I just cannot download the
posts using Windows Mail anymore like I always have. There have been
several posts each day that have appeared on the NG.

It may help if you unsubscribe from that newsgroup (right-click on the
folder name), then resubscribe. If there is no difference, those missing
posts aren't on the Verizon news server.
 
Under Tools | Options | Read uncheck the option to download xxx headers at a
time. Then go back and refresh the NG. You can also reset it by
rightclicking on it in the folder list and go to Properties | Local File and
click Reset.

Gary, in my OP I specifically stated that I unsubscribed and re-
subsribed to the NG already and this did not fix the error. I've
actually done it twice with no success.

Steve, I also did that when the posts didn't appear and I still get
nothing. It didn't even download the old headers and messages, which
is extremely odd. It is also extremely puzzling to me that the NG does
still appear according to Verizon's news server, so it's not like they
decided to block access to this NG, yet there are no posts that are
downloaded when I try to connect.

In that case I stand by my assessment that the missing posts simply
aren't on the Verizon news server.
