If i open up Windows Mail without a connection already present the program
will not start up the connection, i have gone into tools/options and it is
set to share the same connection with IE7, and the settings are for always
dial my defualt connection when none present.

What am i missing here?

When you open Internet Explorer, does it dial the connection?
You might try IE's "Always dial my default connection" setting.

You didn't answer my first question.
If the connection is dialed when you open IE, then *that's*
the workaround: always start IE first, then WinMail.
Sorry, I have no other suggestions at this point.

Yes when i open ie7 i get the dial my account dialogue, but i do not get this
in mail it will immediately come up with aq screen saying work offline or try
again

I found out how to fix it all by myself.

i went to tools/accounts/ i selected the account i wanted to modify and then
went to its properties, then connections and told it to always use the
connection that i chose.

If things were working correctly, it should have honored the IE7
connection settings, but congrats on finding a good workaround.
