Windows Mail to be Mothballed...already?

As a longstanding hater of Outlook Express, I got Vista and really
took a shine to Windows Mail. Then, whilst investigating a problem I
have with Outlook 2007 (it is still screwing with my imap
accounts...when I delete something it strikes through and then loses
it altogether when I purge) I found this link.

I have to say that I am disappointed. WM was really the next
iteration of OE but it is good and it handles imap well by which I
mean that if I delete something, it moves it to the trash. Outlook
does not any more although I am sure that it was doing so until last
week. Maybe this week's patch Tuesday involved a change.

It looks like Thunderbird may be the way to go for a reasonable and
decent imap client unless they do something startlingly good with
hotmail.
