I have recently bought a snappy new computer with dual core and vista. Great.
But when I set up windows mail importing the settings from my old Outlook
Express I found that it receives so slow that it keeps timing out. Any ideas
Please

Hi, Cooper.

There may be other solutions, but my first thought would be to create a new
account in Windows Mail. You can use the existing one to see the settings
you will need to use, but you'll have to type in your password again. (You
DO remember it, don't you? I always forget mine.)

Make sure your antivirus program is NOT configured to scan emails:

And if it is, disable such and then remove and add the account back again.

I have tried both stopping the Avg from scanning email and deleting and
creating my account but it's still the same. I can go on line and get my mail
but I get loads of junk mail or I can connect up my old computer and get the
mail so I know the problem is with my windows mail on my new vista computer.
