windows mail/outlook express

everytime i open my windows mail it opens and then doesnt respond for a few
seconds, then returns to normal operation. Any ideas on why this is?

what does outlook express got to do with it?

It could be loading up lots of contacts, if you have a lot. It could also
be due to 3rd party program interference. See point 3 here:
