well i have tryed to import my pst file & failed as well as my express files
& failed , i tryed it by making the burn file and running it on the old xp
pc, i tryed it with a vista capable usb network transfer cable, i also dumped
the xp hdd data on the new vista box hhd and failed again to import the
required fiiles, so if any 1 out there in the world has a solution to this
issue , we here downunder would like to know please,

1.export your files as outlook express (*.dbx). copy these to your vista
machine in an empty directory.

2. go to that directory and right click the files and select properties.

3. click on details.

4. at the bottom click on Remove Properties and Personal Information.

5. scroll down to Attributes.

6. click the radio button Remove the following properties from this file and
click ok. do this for all of the dbx files.

7. now go to windows mail mail and import the files as outlook express files.

Note: your contacts and calender will also be there as emails.

Actually, if you set up a folder called Outlook Express in your user
directory and copy the dbx files into that then import using the mail import
function and Outlook Express 6 it works like a charm - it seems you have to
also have in your folder the folders.dbx file for it to work

you then get an imported folder in Mail and you can then easily reorganize
the email folders and email in Mail

I gave it a whirl with what you said below...see my (A) Answers / (P)

Are the OE DBX files in a subdirectory of C:\Users\<yourusermame>\Documents?
