windows mail opening a file

I receive mail that has a attachment with it that I cannot open. It has a pps
file and I receive a error notice that reads, Information variable
MEET_REG_CLASS_OVERRIDE isundefined the error accurred on line 390.
I try to open it and it shows the type to be Microsoft Powerpoint slide
show, the next box that comes up says, this file does not have a program
associated with it for performing this action. I do not know who to set an
association. I can open the mail in att yahoo and hotmail.
