Save then first.

Do you have the Pro version of the Office CD?
If so, it should have a custom install option for the MAPI handler.
Word needs the MAPI handler to be present in order for it
to be able to hand off a document to the default email program.
Reinsert your Office CD, select "install additional components/
custom install". There should be an option to install Outlook
MAPI handlers.

I need to know the same , I can't operate Windows Mail through Office 2007
.. If I try to send an E-mail through Office 2007 no option is available ,
all grayed out. I have to first open Windows Mail and attach a file from
that direction.

Thank You !!

Thank You

If you don't have a CD, how did you manage to install Office?

Your only other option is to save the Word document, close
Word, then open Windows Mail, start a new email and attach
the saved Word document.

When I bought my new notebook, a free trial was already installed. I simply
purchased the rights to Office and they sent me a key number. Didn't require
a CD.

Your solution is what I have already been doing, but it is inconvenient.
Plus, I can't reduce the size of pictures I send, etc.

There must be something that would allow me to right click and send pictures
and links.

What will you do if you ever have to reinstall Office?

You're changing the task. Previously it was sending a Word document.
You can email pictures from inside Windows Photo Gallery, which is Vista's
default app for handling .JPG and similar image files.
It sounds like your Windows Mail doesn't have all of its defaults.
To correct this problem, go to Default Programs, which you
can reach either from the Start menu or the Control Panel,
then click the first item: "Set your default programs."
After a few seconds a list of programs comes up.
Click on Windows Mail. It will probably respond with something like
"This program has 2 of its 3 defaults."
If it reports less than all (3) of its defaults, fix it by selecting
one of the options indicated by green arrows.

Sorry if I confused the issue; however, YOU ARE A GENIUS....I am now able to
send pictures again.

One more thing - I still can't send a link from a webpage. When I click
"File" and "Send," the only option I have is "Shortcut to Desktop." Is there
an easy fix to that also? If not, I can always cut and paste.

I appreciate your help more than you'll ever know. Thanks for sharing your
knowledge.

You should see two other options, "Page by E-mail" and
"Link by E-mail." Somehow IE is not recognizing your email program.
Did you reboot Windows after doing the previous fix? Try that.

If it still doesn't work, try resetting IE: Tools, Internet Options,
Advanced, Reset.
