I currently use DSL but when I try to start Windows Mail, it attempts to do a
Dial-Up to connect to the Internet. I have insured that "Do not attempt
Dial-UP" is greyed in the Network and Management area. Further, under LAN
settings, the area specifies that one should get settings automatically. The
Internet is available but Windows Mail does not recognize. It was suggested
that I check Window Mail Properties. However, when I go to tools, Accounts,
and then connection, Windows Mail stops responding. Any suggestions?

So why did you start a new thread?

Try opening WM then go to the file menu and select Work Offline, or double
click the Working Online Icon on the bottom bar of the WM window.

Go to tools>options>General Tab>remove the checkmark from send and receive
at startup>Apply/OK

It sounds like you have your default mail account set to connect to a dial
up, go to this path, tools>accounts>select account>properties>connection
tab, and remove the checkmark from "always connect using">apply/OK.

Don't mix people up who are trying to help you :-))
