Windows Mail newsgroups and keyboard shortcuts

When I am reading newsgroups, I am using Ctrl+U to advance to the next
unread message. When I reach the last unread message in the newsgroup, it
asks if I want to advance to the next unread newsgroup. Of course I answer
yes, and I am brought into the next group.

However, I cannot continue to use Ctrl+U to keep reading until I use my
mouse to click on either the group, message header, or message before I can
continue to use the keyboard shortcuts.

Is this a bug, or do I have a configuration issue?

It is a bug.

I put the Next Unread button on the toolbar and use that, mouse is in hand
ready to click on a message.

There are issues with Ctrl+H & Ctrl+J too, M$ are showing an interest in the
problem .

Hi Richard,

Based on my testing, I can use Ctrl+U to keep reading in different unread
newsgroups. So, I think that it is not a bug.

When you are switch to the next unread newsgroup, press the Tab key instead
of using the mouse to highlight the group. And then are you able to
continue use Ctrl+U?

If anything is unclear or if you have any other concerns, please don't
hesitate to contact me.

From my testing, Tab has no effect when arriving in the next newsgroup.

Why in the world would you have a 2 key combination, instead of a single key
"N" like Agent?

YES it is a bug.
reported during beta and was not felt to be important enough to fix.

I simply use the space bar to scroll through all the posts,
but it doesn't allow going to the next newsgroup. No big deal.

Hi Richard,

It was a bug reported in the Windows Vista Beta 2 version. However, I think
that you are using the RTM version of Windows Vista.

Run "winver" and let me know the exact version of Windows Vista system on
your computer.

Also, please go to Microsoft Update site to check and install all available
updates to see if it works.

If anything is unclear or if you have any other concerns, please don't
hesitate to contact me.

Hi Emily,

Nice of MSFT to make an occasional appearance here. ;-)

Could you please follow Usenet conventions and quote at least a
snippet of the post you're replying to?

Thank you,

You're welcome.
I want to encourage you and other Microsoft reps to participate in
this newsgroup. Granted, Windows Mail looks like an abandoned
step child now that Windows Live Mail is scheduled to replace it.
Hopefully once that beta starts, we will see more interaction with
MSFT reps.

Hi Richard,

Press CTRL+SHIFT+U to go to the next unread newsgroup conversation to see
if it works.

The Tab key has no effect in my use either.
