Windows XP Windows Mail Merge DAte Format Problem

Hi, wonder if you could help?
I'm importing an Excel document to Microsoft word mail merge.
the date format in excel is UK BUT when i export it into a word document/table the format is changed to US - how can i change this?

Sorry to say but it seems to be a known issue with Word

Here's a work around I found for you.
Unless you fancy writing or obtaining a 3rd party mail-merge macro you may be stuck untill MS sort it.
