Hi,

Anyone one what the settings are suppose to be with this Windows Mail
application that took over Outlook Express?

One would think that when it did this, without telling me anything, that it
would transfer the settings for outlook express but nooooo.... Anyway I just
need to know some minor things like:

Do I use the POP3 or the IMAP server format
What the hell are the settings for the incoming and out going mails server

Other than that everything's fine, cant get mail and cant send normal mail
but I can send and receive News mail, go figure.

Thanks in advance

Nelson

Those are the server addresses for your e-mail account. Usually POP3 for a
commercial account, IMAP is used more often for Exchange accounts. They'll
be whatever they were in Outlook Express. For example for comcast they're
pop.comcast.net (incoming) and smtp.comcast.net (outgoing). Check with your
ISP to see if they offer POP3 mail. And if so, get their server addresses.

If you use Web mail then you can just continue to do mail through your Web
browser.

Who is your e-mail provider?

Depending on where your email is hosted will determine what kind of setting
you need to have. In most cases you will see the mail servers as POP3, of
course this depends on who you have email account with. The would go for
the Incomming and Outgoing servers. Also you want to ask your provider the
following information:

1.) I'm I on a POP3 or IMAP?
2.) What is my outgoing SERVER?
3.) What is my incomming SERVER?
4.) What is my incomming port?
5.) What is my outgoing port?
6.) Does the server require Authetication?
7.) Does the server require SSL or TSL?

I hope this is helpfull once you obtain the information just select
tool/account and create a new account.
