Why is Windows Mail so slow comparing to OE when it is opening a message in
the preview box?

It takes about 10 sec to display the message, it's really time consuming!!

Are you using SpywareBlaster? Or installed any other software or REG file that adds rogue sites to the "Restricted Sites" list in IE, as a security measure? If so, see this page for a solution:

I think the previous reply was right on, but may have been too specific. The
time delay probably is a result of the message is being scanned by some other
program for virus, content, spyware ot other malicious programming. It
could also be that you have blocked a lot of senders, sites, etc. and the
mail program has to run through the filters before showing the message.
There could be firewall considerations and if you're on a network a lot of
permissions to be granted, etc. You need to consider what the different
configurations are between when you used OE and now. Did you have e-mail
scanned for virus in OE? Were you behind a firewall then? Have permissions
changed, etc.?

I Just posted a solution in detail at NetOrator.com

NetOrator dot com

The problem is the contact files in the contact folder.

Can you post the solution here?

I saw the solution you posted almost three hours ago under the
name "Eddie Miller".
I was wondering how that solution compares to the one we've
been using here with great success:
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/72674-windows-mail-slow.html?ltr=W

Incidentally, I've never noticed any posting delays in this newsgroup,
and (AFAIK) there is no Forum Admin.

There may be an issue with the Egghead Café posting method you used.

*In the 10 seconds it takes to wait on one Vista Email, you could have
clicked and read the solution.*

Can you NOT Click on *NetOrator.com* ????

I Posted the Solution Here an hour ago and it is being Reviewed by the
Forum Admin. Which means it won't be posted because I included a few
choice observations about the deplorable state of the Windows O/S
Franchise !!!

If you can Click then you can find the answer.

Congratulations.
That is the longest,
most moronic version
of "no" I've ever read.

I've noticed that I get the occasional post pulled
if I lapse into my native Anglo-saxon.
There's a definite pro Roman prejudice
towards the languages used here.

Can someone breakdown the contents of this thread so that a non-techy like me
can understand it? lol

I switched over to Firefox Thunderbird because Windows Mail was incredibly,
painfully slow, but from what I gather in this thread there are work arounds
for the slowness. Is Microsoft working on a permanent fix?

TIA...MJ
