Windows Mail-Getting REALLY Frustrating!

I'm starting to get really irritated now.
A couple of weeks ago I wrote on this board that I had somehow lost my self
created folders in Windows Mail for archiving my old e-mails. Well thanks to
some 'posters' here, I managed to find them and have nearly gotten back all
my old e-mails.
Now for some reason everytime I open up and use Windows Mail, it completely
hogs my CPU and makes using it pretty much impossible. I can hear the PC
revving up like a jet engine after I open up the application and forget about
trying to write anything. Press a letter and about two seconds later, it
will appear. I have no idea what happened to make this occur. I'm ready to
just give it up and just use Gmail or something. It's just not worth it
anymore.
Any suggestions or should I just trash Windows Mail and forget it?

Either your PC is infected with malware/viruses (in which case some
of your other apps, like IE, might be slow also), or your Windows Mail
is being interfered by incompatible security programs. Which third party
security programs are you running?

Have you confirms via Task Manager that WinMail is spiking CPUs? Are you
absolutely sure this doesn't happen with any other program or Website? The
reason I ask is because heavy CPU usage will slow things down, but it
should nor cause any "revving noise". That sounds more like some fans need
a good cleaning. A /real/ good cleaning. Fans will make the sound you
describe, but not your HDD.
