Windows Mail Fix

I have followed these instructions and it worked fine...However, now every
time I start Windows Mail, the routine rebuilds the database. If I check
e-mail 10 times a day, I get 10 rebuilds which each save 4 or 5 files on my
desktop. This is worse than having the undeletable files...

Unfortunately, this side effect often happens with this particular 'fix'.
You would be better off just upgrading to Windows Live Mail:

Move the entire message store contents to a subdirectory under Documents
rather than just deleting the database. Then WinMail will start clean and
you can then import from the other directory.
