If you want to back up all aspects of Windows Mail, including account settings, rules, etc. use this free third party utility: http://www.staticbackup.com/windows-mail-backup/ http://www.staticbackup.com/products.htm#swmbf It does not transfer contacts, but you can easily copy and paste the folder C:\Users\username\Contacts.
