I am having trouble with windows mail..I have been using it just fine until
about two days ago..now when I try to recieve mail, it gives me this error...

Yes, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

and this..

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: (1)', Server: , Protocol: POP3,
Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Anyone have a suggestion? Thanks for your help

You deleted some important information from the error message,
such as the server name.

Why? The least you could have done is told us it was edited.
You'd be surprised, some people try to connect with a blank server name.

Turn off email scanning in your anti-virus.

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Beside that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail.

Jeff,

My problem was with sending mail as opposed to receiving mail. But I would
try the following. Go to

www.oehelp.com/wmutil

and download Steve's utility to your desktop per his instructions. Then use
the utility, after unzipping, and compact your e-mail. My problem went
go away. Hopefully will for you. Also in the future,
compact your e-mail every time the dialog box appears asking if you want to
compact your e-mail.

Good luck and let me know what happens.

We've told you many times, WMUtil doesn't help with Inbox problems or
problems with an 800ccc... error.

The host 'smpt.gmail.com' could not be found. Please verify that you have
entered the server name correctly.

You are confusing the issue by piggy backing a different problem
on to a existing thread. Start a new thread in future.
Read this.
Having said that...
You have incorrectly specified smpt.gmail.com instead of smtp.gmail.com
Amend it via
Tools > Accounts > your email > Properties > Servers > SMTP >
