I too have recently migrated to Windows Mail from Outlook Express. It is
taking some getting use to. I have the option of completing email addressing
when creating new mail. However it only completes about half of the contact
names in my address book. For instance I have several contacts that begin
with "D". It doesn't comlete those names.. I have several contacts that
start with "C', but it only shows one or two to chose from in the drop down
selection list. I have studied the contact list and cannot determine any
difference in them.

What do do?

Any suggestions..

I just got a new computer with Vista and I am having the EXACT same problem
too with Windows Mail!
It is only completing some of the address in my contact book-- not ones
beginning with a D or C !
It should complete all of them since I have that option checked "complete
address when composing."
Why it is only working on some and not "the D's or C's is beyond me.
This option worked perfectly on my WIN 98 SE /OE system.
Hope someone knows!

I think you have to either send an email once to the person or receive on
before it will work for that entry.

No, that's not the solution. I DID sent them mails before and have also
received mail from them, but still...they don't pop up in the list of
possible adressees. Goes without saying that they are all in my list of
contacts. VERY ANNOYING!!!!

All we can tell you is what the bulk of WinMail users are
experiencing in this regard. Your experience is unusual.
Suffice it to say, we don't know how to fix it.

My autocomplete is the same way--it doesn't seem to matter if I sent or
recieved from contact. However, someone had posted a few weeks ago about
hitting the enter key after you typed in the first few letters, and that DOES
autocomplete the address for me.
Hopefully that will work for you too--it is not the "standard" procedure as
it was in the past, but it does help me (and some others who have posted) to
get
auto complete to "sort of" work.
Good Luck.

Yes, this works for many users:
Type the first three letters, then press the Tab or Enter key.
