Windows Mail - cannot receive or send

I too have had the same problem after the automatic update of Vista Home.
Not only was I unable to access my emails, but I was also unable to access
the internet - I wasn't even able to access my router. I think that the
problem lies with 2 of the updates - KB933566 for Internet Explorer and
KB929123 for Windows Mail. I uninstalled both updates and was then able to
access my emails and use the internet normally. I then reinstalled both
updates and the problem returned. I have now uninstalled these updates
again and have set them as hidden updates to prevent this problem again.
I want to point out that, apart from these updates, my system is fully up to
date.
Hopefully this should help other people - it has worked OK for me.
 
Are you running any third party security software?
Very few are reporting problems with the latest updates, but
it might be interesting to find out what they have in common.
