Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail

Some differences between Windows Mail (WM) and Windows Live Mail (WLM):

Windows Live Mail is the newer program, and replaces Windows Mail which
comes with Vista (and won't be updated).
Both are email programs and newsreaders.

WLM has an integrated calendar which synchs with your online Live/Hotmail
calendar.
WLM can access Hotmail/Live/MSN http email accounts, which WM cannot.
WLM can synch your contacts with the online Windows Live Hotmail, if you
sign in with a Live ID.
WLM can access RSS feeds.
WLM can auto-complete typed in email addresses from the Contacts, WM only
remembers 29 typed-in addresses.
WLM has separate Inbox, Drafts, Sent items, Junk email and Deleted items
folders for each email account. WM dumps all email into one Inbox.
WLM has 37 spell check languages, WM has 4.

WM can let you view the source code when composing a message, WLM cannot.
WM has not been updated since Vista was released.

WLM and WM can now both access Hotmail POP3 accounts, since MSFT has added
that service.

No one seems to like the pale colors, lack of highlighting, and lack of
toolbar icons in the current version of WLM.
Hopefully, MSFT makes some changes in the next release.

Use WLM if you want to check spelling as you type.

There's no contradiction.
WLM can access Hotmail HTTP accounts (using DeltaSync), and access Hotmail
POP3 accounts.
WM can only access Hotmail via POP3.

The difference is "http" and "POP3"

The best way to discover the differences is to try them both side-by-side.
I've been running both mail programs simultaneously for the past three years.

Hi dear mirosoft mail team thank you very mucha for information iam
trying to get some mail sending rule but i couldn't found it .

The rules are accessed the same way in both programs.
Tools - Message Rules

Note that Tools is located in the main program window, not in a compose
message window.

Dave... you gave good advice but not all was accurate. In fact, you
contradicted your own post with the following two statements.

*-1. WLM can access Hotmail/Live/MSN http email accounts, which WM
cannot.-*
**
*-2. WLM and WM can now both access Hotmail POP3 accounts, since MSFT
has added that service.-*

You can't state it both ways (WM can and cannot acess Hotmail accounts.

I have been using Windows Mail to access hotmail/live/MSN accounts for
a long, long time even though WM is NOT my default mail program.

More than likely you just were not seeing the Menu bar which is not
displayed by default in WLMail. You have to choose to display it
permanently by clicking the "Menu icon" (next to the "?" icon on the far top
right of the window) and then select "Show Menu Bar". Then you will have
the common functions, File, Edit, View, Go, Tools, Actions, Help, etc. (and
others as you may choose in customization - right click the bar once
displayed to customize).

Look in Tools - Message Rules on the main email program window (not on a
compose email window). Also, this is not a "mirosoft mail team " -
everyone here is a volunteer - just like you !!
