Windows mail and outlook conflict

I have installed office XP onto my Vista laptop... no problems.

I use Windows mail instead of outlook, however, when I right click on a file
I wish to send, or try to use the calendar, my computer wants to use outlook
and not windows mail.

This is very frustrating. Can I delete Outlook without effecting word &
excel etc, or, can I disable outlook.

Thanks in advance, I'm sure I cannot be the only person having this problem,
but cannot trace any other queries in the community.

Regards

Aaron

Yes, you can remove Outlook. I have Office 2003, so I don't know if it's the
same as your version...

Start - Control Panel - Programs and Features
highlight Microsoft Office, and click on Change
in the configuration box, click on Add or Remove features
Next
uncheck Outlook
update

In Internet Explorer go to Tools|Internet Options, click on the Program tab
then click on the Set programs button. You can restore all of Windows
Mail's default settings there. You can also reach this screen via the
Control Panel (it think).

thanks kevin,
all sorted
