This facility has (suddenly) stopped working: it now goes to a desktop item,
starting with "E" instead of opening Windows Explorer. First noticed after
d/l and install of latest "Critical updates" from MS (from settings in
Internet Explorer.
Any solution?

Diagnosis requires identifying whether the fault is in (OS)
software or hardware (keyboard.) Consider that no keyboard
lasts for ever and most are nowadays ultra-cheap and not worth
the price of repair.

Can you tell me.... does it also not work if you try using the opposite
side's Win-Key, to the one you have been trying, in the WinKey+E key
combination?

Does it still not activate Explorer?

What about other WinKey + [ ] combinations?

Standard Windows Key Shortcuts......

WinKey + [D] = Show Desktop
WinKey + [E] = Windows Explorer
WinKey + [F] = Find Files or Folders
WinKey + [R] = Run...
WinKey + [M] = Minimize All Windows
WinKey + [ShiIt] + [M] = Undo Minimize All
WinKey + [Tab] = Select Task
WinKey + [Break] = System Properties
WinKey + [Fl] = Windows Help

Peter - if you are going to make criticism about someone's contribution -
at least get your facts straight.....
Try WinKey +Pause which one of many you left out Tim

"WinKey + Pause", as you put it, is the same as the one I included :

WinKey + [Break] = System Properties

....so which others of the "many" I am supposed to have left out will you
cite next?

I'd be fascinated to know, I really would!

I always say "Pause | Break," to avoid any sort of misunderstanding
like this. ;-)

Facility returned: no idea why (but I have uninstalled PtreonInk Saver).

Never thought of trying RHS WinKey - it works!.

All other WinKey +... worked - I only use:
WinKey + [E] = Windows Explorer
WinKey + [M] = Minimize All Windows
WinKey + [Shift] + [M] = Undo Minimize All
