I have Windows Live Messenger 8.5 on Windows XP SR2. It initially worked
just fine to make a video call with my son, but now it freezes up. Here's
what happens:
2. I can sign in with no problems. I can even instant message with no
problems. And I can go under the appropriate tab to ensure that my camera is
working, which it is.
But:
3. If I go under the Tools tab to make audio and video adjustments, WLM
freezes up; I get the hour glass; and then program not responding message. I
have to CAD it.
4. The same thing happens when I try to answer a video call or make one: WLM
freezes up; I get the hour glass; and then program not responding message.
Again, I have to CAD.
I am baffled because I can't think of any changes I made to my computer that
would account for why the program no longer works. This is what I have tried
so far:
A. I ran that "repair" option under Adding and Deleting programs.
B. I've completely uninstalled WLM and then reinstalled it. Made no
difference.
C. Removed and reinstalled software for the Logitech camera (which, as I
mentioned before, not only is working, but I actually used once to make a
video call with success.)
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
