Tonight I went to the Windows Live Mail download site and went with the
installer, it installed Windows Mail, not Windows Live Mail. Now I can not
retrieve my hotmail messages, is this a link bug. It runs the Live installer
but installs WIndows Mail instead of Windows Live Mail. Did they merge? Can
someone provide a link just to Windows Live Mail if they have one? Thanks

Shawn

They haven't merged. It is not possible to download Windows Mail
since it is an integral part of Vista.
Which download site did you use, and which country are you in?

Well it actually seems that when I updated it Changed my default mail to
Windows Mail instead of Back to the new version of Windows live mail. Kinda
wierd but all is fixed now :) Thanks

It can get wierder. Before updating to WLM I was using WM and WLHotmail
(default, web based). When I went installed WLM it pulled all my POP3
accounts into WLM and made my WM default account (Gmail) the default account.
I also have a keyboard with an email button on it. I thought it was
assigned your default email program (when I went from WM to WLHotmail
(default), it switched from WM to WLH) but I was mistaken. When I noticed
that WLM wasn't getting my WLHotmail I setup an account for it (seamless-you
only need say you want HTTP Hotmail and you don't need to tell it server
names, ports, etc.). Now WLM gets all my WM and WLH accounts. I made WLM my
default email app. However, the button on my keyboard kept the web based
WLHotmail link and not my default WLM. Also wierd.
