Hi

Recently set up windows live mail on an XP package. Everything working fine
until a couple of nights ago when I get the above error message. This is
preventing me from receiving or sending emails.

Any idea's?

Check the date/time. Someone had changed my date.
That wasn't it. Thought I had posted this, but here it is:

I am unable to receive/send email from my hotmail paid account through
windows live mail. I get this beauty:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail account. Sorry, we were
unable to sign you in to Windows Live ID at this time. Please try again later.

Server Error: 0x80048820
Server: 'http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80048820

I sent in to whatever 'contact us' in windows live mail and haven't even
gotten a peep in over 24 hours.

thanks in advance for any help.

Why does ANYONE use Hotmail anymore? It was good before MS
bought it. It has continuously gotten worse since then. Not to
mention the utter lack of security as demonstrated by multiple
hacker break-ins over the years.

Get a couple of throwaway gmail accounts for junk and a paid-for
real POP/SMTP account from the handful of providers around the
world. They're like $10-15 a year and you keep them PRIVATE, ie
for essential contacts.

<snipped the hijack attempt>

Why are you STILL trying to hijack someone else's thread, especially a
thread that is 19 MONTHS OLD? You were trying to hijack thread at
http://preview.tinyurl.com/y9r5dxj, too. Step off the coat tails.

Start a NEW thread that discusses YOUR problem and gives the details on YOUR
setup. For example, one of the details could be whether or not the account
ever did work in Windows Live Mail (WLM), like if this is a new problem for
a setup that was working before or this is a new setup (i.e., it never has
worked from the start). Other details would include version of WLM, version
of Windows, type of e-mail access to the Hotmail account (POP or
HTTP/Deltasync), and how long you waited to see if this was a transient
problem with their mail server.

The newsgroup for the Windows Live Mail (WLM) client is at:

microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop
