I sure agree with you Michael on having rock solid systems and backups. I
try my best, making more than one backup of each system, and I use Acronis X
for Vista. I've used Ghost in the past, but for me there are just too many
potential conflicts over the years with Ghost--I remember well the potential
BSOD stop that some people never recovered from with Ghost 8 I believe it
was, and SP2 unless you modified boot.ini and added a line prior to
installing Ghost.
Also some good users on these groups and vets have reported that Ghost 10 is
installing on Vista but not performing well right now.

I don't have to think about it. Until that day comes, I'm booting several.
You are better informed than I am. I didn't know that they weren't
giving out Vista at the event, but Groove and Office 2007 instead.
I hope "vmaxdad" clicked on the CDO's [ + ] and saw your post.

It's not Vista Michael. It's promotional. He doesn't have a product key
for
it, and if you read my post I explained it. I do like dual boots though.

Until you're certain about application compatibility, you should dual
boot.
What the Upgrade Adviser tells you may not be what you find to be true.
Give Vista a disk or partition, let it see XP, and it'll set up a dual
boot.
Howdy,
I got home from the New Day Launch in Seattle and couldn't wait to load
Vista. I have the Launch Preview and am confused. It will not give
upgrade as
an option only a clean install. I ran Vista Upgrade Adviser and there
were no
compatibility issues! Is the Windows Launch Preview not able to upgrade
XP?
