Yeah, it should work. Does the Windows key work for other stuff? E.g., by
itself does it open the Start menu? Does Win+F bring up Search/Find and
Win+M minimize everything?

You can always make new ones using the great freeware tool WinKey:

If this just changed, you can also use System Restore to roll back to just
before it went away.

Hi

Thx 4 the reply - all of the other keys work fine its
just the Windows + E that dont. I have downloaded the
winkey program that u suggested and it doesn't list the e
key as being used and it is not an option for creating a
new shortcut - any other suggestions (i know i could do
the restore bit or choose another key) because i would
like to understand how this has happened.

TIA again

This issue is explained in great detail in your help and
support center under the start button. In fact there are
44 articles covering about every contingency you could
imagine. This is the first place to go and look before
coming to this NG. Don't be lazy Read Read Read. Keep
smiling.

Looking it up in H&SC would be great but people
want the 30 second TV commercial to solve the
problem. And forget about people searching in
the newsgroup and reading other posts.
Notice how many people use "popup" as the subject item
every day. Simple search in outlook express would
reduce the number of daily posts for "popup".
