Hi:

I find well over a hundred files on my PC with a .tmp extension at: C:\WINDOWS\Internet Logs.

Their file name generally begin with xDB.

1) What are these and are they safe to delete?

2) I also have some other files in WINDOWS with a .tmp extension, but by far fewer than the above-mentioned Internet Logs files.
Can I delete those as well?

Thanks in advance:

A web search with this as the search term:

C:\WINDOWS\Internet Logs xDB

indicates that the files probably belong to your Zone Alarm product, so
perhaps you should ask the Zone Alarm user forums.

About .tmp files: /Generally/ you can safely delete .tmp files that
survive a restart, although .tmp files that are currently in use won't
delete. To be on the safe side, .tmp files that survive a restart /and/
are at least 24 hours old are probably safe to delete.

You can't make sweeping generalizations about .tmp files. First you have
to know how they got there.

They are ZoneAlarm files. I had ZoneAlarm installed before I transferred to Comodo. I deleted these files on a regular basis w/of any ill consequences at all. The files will be automatically recreated from the date the deletion takes place. You can even delete the big ones.

I moved from ZoneAlarm to Comoro because Zone Alarm caused a lot of problems on my system from a certain release onwards.
