I have a broandband connection in which i decided to
turn the internet firewall on.(Through the advanced
settings just ticked on the box) Then i noticed that i
was unable to use a vpn connection so i turned it off.
(clear the box), but for my luck nothing has changed... a
ghost windows firewall still exists and preventing me
from doing my job correctly.. i cannot have vpn
connections..even the yahoo messenger doesnt work.. Is
there anything that i can do to reset somehow my
connection.. you see its a lan connection so i cannot
just delete it and create it again... if someone has
anything to say about this.. just send an e-mail to
(e-mail address removed) thank you...

First goof Turning on the Firewall within Windows Ouch.
No big deal, Go back to your Firewall setting on your
Local Area Connection. In there at the bottom you will see
settings, this is were you make you VPN settings so the
the VPN Tunnel will pass through. But you first must talk
to your IT people to see which VPN they are using L2PT or
PPTP, then once you find that out they need to tell what
port to open for their settings. If you really need to
remove the Firewall you did what is required. By the way
it nothing to delete those settings and start over, just
make sure you ask your IP department else they will string
you up by your toes.
