This used to be an infrequent problem, but now it happens
every time when I open IE.
The 'Windows Installer' thing pops up and then it wants me
to insert the MSOffice 2000 disk. I don't know why it is
happening, and being a little unsure of if I should due to
possible virus/hacker concerns I have not put the disk in.

Does anyone have an idea of why this is happening or what
I can do to fix it w/o putting the MSOffice disk in? I do
not see how it would be necessary for IE to need anything
from MSOffice, but if anyone knows anything, please email
or post.

Thanks

It is possible that an MS Office update was not completed and the
routine has not finished, on next occurrence insert disc prompted by the
dialog.

More general info on Office you may not be aware of.
