lot of updates. after 4 weeks of not being able to... i thought the installer
was finally working but its gone "dump" again. I will not install my CD

HELP
We don't know what your problems are, what error message(s) you get, or
what you have tried to do to fix the problem. Further, this question
doesn't have anything to do with printing or faxing in Windows XP (which
is what this newsgroup is directed to).
Assuming that you're using Windows XP, please post in
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windowsxp.general
and give some details about:
- your OS (XP Home/XP Pro/XP MCE)
- what you are trying to do and what happens
- the complete text of any error messages you get
- what you have done in an attempt to fix your problem (including what
the "lot of updates" were)
- answers to the questions below
Because your problem appears to have something to do with Windows
Installer, have you run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to remove
any remnants of a failed install?

Have you tried any of the suggestions in these KB articles (which ones,
and with what results?) (note that there is some overlap in these articles):
