Windows Installer

I seem to be getting this pop-up window when I go to different sites that
says "Windows Installer" and it is looking for my Office 2003 CD. Is this a
virus trying to install? I have to hit "cancel" at least 5 times or more
before it stops. How can I stop this from happening? I am running Windows XP
Pro (legit), with Office 2003 (again legit). I have tried to find the answer
on Microsoft with no luck.

I currently have my Windows Updates set to "Download and tell me when ready
to install". As for others, I run Webroot, Spysweeper, Pestpatrol, etc. As
well as McAfee and Windows Defender. I scan all the time and things are fine
and clear. I had read some place to uncheck something because a script is
being addressed to run.

If you could guide a novice to this, I would appreciate it.

Thanks much,

And have you checked in at Windows Update and Office Update? It's possible
that an Office Update you've downloaded via Automatic Updates and accepted
is attempting to install: Stick your Office 2003 CD in the the drive and see
what happens.

Receiving an "all clear" from all of those apps does not mean the machine is
clean. See the links I posted and then post your HijackThis log to an
appropriate forum (not here!) for review by an expert.
