Windows Installer Problem

Every time I boo up my PC, Windows Installer pops up and tries to
configure VMWare Workstation for installation. This is strange since I
uninstalled VMWare some weeks ago, and as far as I can tell, have
deleted any remaining references to it in the Registry. I've also run
the Windows Install Cleanup utility which shows no references to
VMWare.

Can anyone assist in preventing this happening?

I've disabled the Windows Installer - as a temporary measure - but
this doesn't stop it momentarily flashing onto the screen at boot up.

Appearently there is something left in your registry that triggers this to
pop up.Did you try msconfig and startup items and did you see anything in
there referencing it?
Check you reg /software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/policies/explorer
as this will not be displayed in msconfig, but will still autostart.check
both local machine and current user.
Hope this helps

Jake: I've looked at Start Up, combed through the Registry, used the
Cleanup unility - and I can't find any reference whatsoever to VMWare,
so how the Installer is being triggered is a complete mystery to me.
