A little history - I recently installed the Office 2007 beta along side of my
copy of MS Office 2003. . Due to Outlook problems, I uninstalled the beta,
but still had Outlook problems. I uninstalled, and reinstalled Office 2003,
and all programs, including Outlook, functioned normally. But.... whenever my
son starts Internet Explorer 6.0, or MSN Explorer, the WEindows Installer
starts up and says that it is configuring Microsoft Office 2003. He is a
limited user - this problem does not occur with Administrative users. If he
waits long enough, the installer stops running, but this can be 15 minutes
ore more. I know he can use an alternate browser, and he does use Firefox,
but for some things, he needs MSN Explorer.
Anyone have any idea how we can stop this pesky behavior? I know that I can
change him to an Administrative User, but this is not a preferred option.
Could a uninstall and reinstall of Office help? Should he be an
Administrative user when I do this, even inf I install through my account?
